Ireland's first 300t LTM 1300-6.4

Irish rental company O’Carroll Haulage & Crane Hire has taken delivery of three Liebherr All Terrain cranes including the 70 tonne LTM 1070-4.2, a 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.2 and Ireland’s first 300 tonne LTM 1300-6.4 as part of a five unit deal.

The four axle LTM 1070-4.2 has a 50 metre main boom and a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. Features include Liebherr’s VarioBase and Ecomode systems and its LICCON2 controller. It can carry its swingaway and 10.7 tonnes of counterweight within 12 tonne axle loads, or 3.8 tonnes with 10 tonne axle loads.
The handover

The four axle LTM 1090-4.2 features a 60 metre main boom plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with manual offset to offer a maximum tip height of just under 80 metres. Features include Liebherr’s VarioBase variable outrigger setup and remote control system, along with Ecodrive and Ecomode systems, for reduced fuel consumption, emissions and noise.

The LTM 1300-6.4 - introduced last May - features an eight section, 90 metre main boom topped by an 11.5 to 20 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, to which two seven metre inserts can be added between the boom nose and swingaway for a tip height of 121 metres. Other features include the Variobase Plus outrigger setup system, which offers a wider, more variable rear outrigger spread - up to 9.4 metres - as well as AutoBallast.

Director Maurice O Carroll said: “The company is delighted to take delivery of the first three cranes in this order - the new additions will strengthen our operations and enhance the service we provide to our customers.”

Completing the package will be a 150 tonne LTM 1150-5.4 and a 50 tonne LTM 1050-3.1 due to arrive over the coming months.

Based in Kildimo, just outside of Limerick, family run O’Carroll runs a fleet of All Terrain, truck, city type and spider cranes, topped by a 450 tonne Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 AT. It also operates a heavy haulage fleet.
