Truck mount for urban trees

UK tree care company Thor’s Trees has taken delivery of a 25 metre, 3.5 tonne, Multitel MZ 250 truck mounted lift.

The articulated MZ 250 unit features a two section lower boom/riser and two section top boom, plus a long articulating jib, for a maximum working height of 25.1 metres and a maximum outreach of 14.35 metres with 80kg, while the maximum platform capacity of 250kg is available at up to 10.35 metres.

The new machine is equipped with Multitel’s Musa management system, which optimises performance according to actual load, slewed position and jacking configuration. A start/stop system in the platform helps reduce fuel consumption, while a full telematics suite with GPS and diagnostics helps manage the machine.

Founded by Lawrence Thor Stephen in 2015, Thor’s Trees specialises in the care of mature, large and technically complex trees, working with a range of clients from homeowners to estates, commercial properties and public sector organisations across London and South East England.

Stephen said: “The MZ 250 has been a fantastic addition to our fleet. It’s a powerful and well engineered machine that allows us to work more efficiently and safely, especially on complex tree work where access is challenging. We have been very impressed not only with the performance of the platform but also with the professionalism and support from the Multitel team.”

Greg Moore of Multitel UK added: “Urban arboriculture requires machines that combine reach, stability and compact dimensions. The MZ 250 has been designed to meet exactly these needs, allowing operators to work safely and efficiently even in restricted spaces. We are delighted to see Thor’s Trees using our platform in such a demanding environment.”
