Saudi Arabian rental company First Gulf Sky has taken delivery of three 120 tonne Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1’s All Terrain cranes, with plans to add five more units of the successor model, the LTM 1120-4.2, shortly.
The handover
The four axle LTM 1120-4.1 features a seven section 66 metre main boom topped by a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. A seven metre section can be added to achieve a maximum tip height of more than 94 metres with a maximum radius of 64 metres. The crane is equipped with VarioBase variable outrigger set up and monitoring, and VarioBallast adjustable counterweight. The cranes will be used largely for steel erection, along with maintenance and repair work in Industrial facilities.

First Gulf Sky owner Ali Saleh Al Faidmah said: “The LTM 1120-4.1's compact dimensions make it an ideal crane for heavier industrial applications. For us, it’s the wild card of the fleet, so to speak, as it can be used flexibly in a wide variety of work situations.”
Founded in 1992, the company is based in Al Jubail, northwest of Dammam. It runs a fleet of 20 All Terrain cranes supported by a team of 150 employees.
