UK rental company H.E. Services has invested £15 million in 200 new Manitou telehandlers, with deliveries already underway. The order is part of a two year renewal and expansion programme.
The machines were ordered through Glosrose group, the main Manitou dealer for South East England, and include straight frame models ranging from four metre sub compacts to 18 metres full size units.
The new telehandlers will be distributed across the company’s 11 depots across England and Wales, with a concentration on key locations such as Strood in Kent, east of London, Liverpool, Cambridge and Cardiff.
Some of the first new Manitou telehandlers to arrive Equipment manager Richard Stevens said: “We are pleased to be investing further in our telehandler fleet with this significant order. This renewal ensures we continue to provide our customers with modern and reliable equipment across all of our depots. Working with Glosrose has allowed us to secure high quality machines that meet the demands of a wide range of sectors.”
Glosrose head of sales Jack Hammell added: “I am thrilled to see the first batch of telehandlers delivered for 2026. H. E. Services and Glosrose have enjoyed a long standing partnership, one that remains as strong today as ever. This month is particularly special as we celebrate our 50th anniversary.”
Established in 1972, H.E Services is based in Strood, and runs around 3,500 units in its general rental fleet, including more than 560 telehandlers, from 11 depots from Durham in the north to Exeter in the southwest. It aims to keep the average age of its fleet under three years. It has been buying Manitou telehandlers since at least 2014. A similar mix of units back then cost £10million for 250!
