The deal will bring the two product ranges together, covering remote controls, screens/displays, machine computers and machine control systems for cranes and industrial machinery. Scanreco said the combined businesses will use a modular software platform designed to allow OEM’s develop and run the same software across different machines. The combined group will have around 600 employees with sales in around 100 countries.

Scanreco chief executive, Peter Lageson said: “This acquisition is part of our long term plan and reflects a clearr transformation in the market. Machine control and HMI are becoming more strategic to OEMs as software, connectivity and intelligence take on a greater role. By combining onboard and remote solutions with intuitive HMIs and strong computing capabilities, we help manufacturers build machines that are more capable, more productive and ready for the future – while creating unique operator experiences.”

The company said investor Priveq will join as a minority shareholder following the acquisition, while Scanreco founders Kaj Johansson and Björn Askestig will remain majority shareholders and continue in their operational roles.
