Multitel and Palazzani team up

Italian truck mounted lift manufacturer Multitel Pagliero has formed a new product development partnership with fellow Italian spider lift specialist Palazzani.

The first fruits of their agreement can be seen in the new 17 metre twin aluminium boomed articulated spider lift, the Multitel SMX 170 or Palazzani TZX 170. Maximum outreach is 7.85 metres, at an up & over height of 5.5 metres, while the maximum up & over height is eight metres, at which point the outreach is reduced to 6.5 metres – due to the rearward facing riser. The maximum platform capacity is 200kg unrestricted.

The new machine uses a Multitel superstructure mounted on a Palazzani tracked undercarriage, the new unit has a two section riser/lower boom and a two section top boom with a pedestal mounted platform with 180 degrees of rotation. The overall length is 4.47 metres, overall width 980mm and overall stowed height 1.99 metres. The overall transport weight is 2,200kg.

Multitel export manager Jerry Kist said: "We have already booked orders for 11 machines and hope to be selling at least 50 machines a year. Looking forward, I am sure more spider lifts will follow, with a bit more working height, and yes, it is possible that we will eventually manufacture the complete machine ourselves.”
