A man is fighting for his life in hopsital after surviving an electrical shock and a six metre fall in the Tlaquepaque suburb of Guadalajara in central Mexico on Tuesday.
The man in his early 20s, a service engineer, was apparently testing the machine, a 48ft Runshare articulated boom lift, in the yard of a general rental company, when he took the platform too close to the overhead power lines that crisscross the front of the yard.
He was apparently also ejected from the platform and fell around five to six metres to the ground. He was rushed to hospital with serious burns and remains in critical condition.

Another day, another overhead power line incident! As we have said many times before, it is about time manufacturers and employers etc... became more aware of the risks and look at technical solutions that might help. The managers of this company should have been fully aware of the power lines overhead and the risks they pose to those operating machinery in the yard.
This could be one of the worst years on record for such incidents.
