40 tonner for 40 years

UK rental company MTC has taken delivery of a 40 tonne LTM 1040-2.1 Liebherr All Terrain crane to coincide with its 40th anniversary.

The two-axle LTM 1040-2.1 has a four section 35 metre main boom which can handle 7.4 tonnes at full extension or 1.1 tonnes at a maximum radius of 31 metres. Features include Liebherr’s VarioBase outrigger setup system and remote control unit, which operates all superstructure functions.

MTC’s managing director, Gavin Grocock said: “We are extremely proud to welcome the LTM 1040-2.1 into our fleet. We purchased our first used Liebherr in 2006 and have always purchased nearly new machines, so it’s nice to finally welcome a brand new machine into the fleet. For us the LTM 1040-2.1 ticked the most boxes in terms of our customers’ requirements, while the Variobase system is a great feature on site.”

Established in 1985, MTC (Mobile Telescopic Cranes) is based in Stoke-on-Trent, in central England. It runs a fleet of truck mounts, loader cranes and All Terrains up to a 60 tonnes as well as lifting equipment including Modulift spreader beams and outrigger mats.
