Clark locations in upper New York
The move significantly expands Long Island, New York based Bay Crane's coverage in upstate New York, which promises significant opportunities for crane and aerial lift companies over the next few years thanks to major investments in semiconductor manufacturing, infrastructure improvements, and data centre developments.
Clark Rigging provides a wide range of lifting related services, including crane rental, rigging and heavy haulage. Its crane fleet runs from a 3.2 tonne Jekko SPX532.2 spider crane to a 450 tonne Tadano AC 7.450-1All Terrain, with Rough Terrains from 15 to 120 tonnes, Crawler cranes from a 100 tonne telescopic to a 300 tonne Liebherr LR 1300.1 SX and a few pick & carry/ carry deck units.
Clark was established in 1954 by Floyd Clark as Niagara Erecting and Sheeting Co specialising in steel erecting, reinforcing, and sheeting. Today the business is owned and managed by a second generation in the form of David Clark after his three siblings retired. He will continue to run the business, at least for now, as regional manager, overseeing operations throughout the region.

Speaking of the deal David Clark said: "I am confident that we have found a partner in Bay Crane that aligns with our culture and will build upon what we have created at Clark Rigging. I have known Ken Bernardo and the team at Bay Crane for many years and know they share our dedication to doing the best for our customers and employees. Joining provides us with access to tremendous resources while allowing us to continue delivering the local service and commitment our customers have always expected."
Bay Crane’s chief executive Ken Bernardo added:"Clark Rigging is exactly the type of company we look to partner with, we have worked together on numerous projects over the years, and we have always had tremendous respect for the quality of their people, equipment, and customer service. We are excited to welcome the Clark team to Bay Crane and look forward to building on the strong reputation they have established throughout Upstate New York.”
While Clark Rigging & Rental dates from 1954, it was incorporated in 1957 as Niagara Erecting Inc, in preparation for a major power project starting in 1958, giving the young company a major boost. It rented out A-Frame trucks and rented in cranes from other companies in order to from others to service the contractors. Niagara Falls was also a heavily industrialised city at the time, which provided plenty of business from companies such as Carbide, Hooker, Stauffer Chemical, Pittsburgh Met, Carborundum and others.
In 1960 Floyd Clark purchased his first proper crane, a Browning truck crane and Clark Rigging & Rental was born.
