165t MacGregor for Jan De Nul

Belgian International marine and offshore contractor Jan De Nul group has ordered a 165 tonne MacGregor active heave-compensated (AHC) subsea crane.

The crane, under construction at the China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) shipyard, can lift its maximum capacity at a radius of 12.5 metres and handle 30 tonnes at 35 metres or 20 tonnes at 37 metres. Overall weight, including the pedestal and winch, is 396 tonnes.

MacGregor's Lucie Addicks said: “This crane's lightweight design gives higher lifting capacity without the added weight of a larger unit, and that translates into a real operational advantage over the vessel's working life.”
