The annual Cranes & Access UK & Ireland Top Rental Fleet Guide returns for its 26th year, and the survey is now open. We will be asking rental companies across the region to check in, check their details and make sure they are properly represented and that the correct fleet numbers are included.
Regular participants will know it as the Top 30… that name has now changed, not out of a dislike for the existing title, but to reflect the survey's growing participation over the years. It began as the Top 10, it later became the Top 20 and then Top 30, which we kept for several years after the main table was more like Top 40 or 50. The original straightforward league table has also expanded into something broader, hence the Top Rental Fleet Guide.
This year marks the 26th edition, which says something about how the guide is used: contractors, financial institutions and market analysts all turn to it to track down specific equipment suppliers or track market trends and evaluate fleets.
Big is good. Different is better.
It is worth reiterating that this is not purely a size contest. Yes, the big machines get their moment, while the largest fleets in the region are duly celebrated, and rightly so. But the guide also shines a light on the specialists, perhaps you operate the biggest truck mounted lift in your region, perhaps you run a handful of crawler cranes, perhaps you have one seriously impressive Heavy Duty telehandler that no one nearby can match.
Any of those would justify a place. A modest fleet with a genuine point of difference is every bit as interesting as a very long list of very ordinary machines.
A permanent record, not a one-off
Once published, the guide takes up residence in our online library, where it stays. Industry professionals return to it throughout the year when weighing up equipment decisions and investment choices, which means taking part puts your company in front of exactly the people you want looking.
Participation is Free, the form is short, and the only real cost is missing out.
