Australian crane rental and heavy transport company WA Universal has taken delivery of a 40 tonne Franna AT40-2 pick & carry crane, its third AT40 unit.
The AT40-2
The three axle AT40-2 features a four section 19.8 metre main boom, with a maximum tip height of 20 metres. It can handle its maximum capacity at a 1.1 metre radius, and a height of six metres. The capacity on full boom is three tonnes, which it can also handle at its maximum 15.8 metre radius, with the boom horizontal.
The crane has an overall width of just over 2.7 metres, is 3.65 metres high and has an overall chassis length of 8.43 metres - with boom overhang, the overall travel length is just under 11 metres. Power comes from a Mercedes diesel linked to a six speed Allison transmission. The crane has an overall weight of 30,300kg and a maximum road speed of 80kph / 50mph.
