And yet another!
A man was electrocuted on Tuesday while pruning trees from an aerial work platform in the Ahuntsic district of Montreal, Canada.
The man, 27, was employed by ‘vegetation management’ contractor Asplundh Canada, a subcontractor of Hydro-Québec.
When the emergency services arrived, the man was - we understand - still alive, they carried out CPR on him and rushed him to hospital, where he later died.
Hydro-Québec has confirmed that the man worked for one of its contractors and said that it is working with the contractor and authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Adding: “This is a deeply tragic event. Our thoughts are with the worker’s family, loved ones and colleagues during this difficult time.”
The local health & safety at work authority, CNESST (Commission des Normes, de l’Equité, de la Santé et de la Sécurité du Travail) has launched an investigation and confirmed that the man came into contact with a low voltage Hydro-Québec power line.

It seems that the electrocution headcount has gone ‘through the roof’ this year, we hear of more incidents than we publish, but even taking those, it seems that we get one almost every week at the moment. It is becoming an issue that needs far more attention.
