Skyjack is to start manufacturing its 85ft SJ85 AJ articulated boom lift at its facility in Orosháza, Hungary. The units built in Hungary will be used for sales made to customers in Europe, the Middle East, and Australia.
The SJ85 AJ is currently only produced at the Skyjack plant in Ramos, Mexico, but with demand for this model growing, especially in these regions, where articulated boom lifts are more popular, it made sense for the company to add the extra capacity in Hungary in order to improve availability but also to shorten the supply chain.
Skyjack has been manufacturing aerial lifts in Hungary since 2001, just prior to Linamar acquiring a majority holding in the business. The Orosháza plant, southeast of Budapest, is operated by the Oros division of Linamar and manufactures a high percentage of the products it builds. It already produces a wide range of Skyjack’s diesel, electric, and hybrid articulated booms, as well as diesel and electric Rough Terrain scissor lifts. - See video below

The SJ85 AJ, which was launched in 2017 at the ARA Rental Show, has a maximum working height of just under 28 metres, 17.1 metres of outreach, an up & over height of 10.36 metres and a dual 277kg /340kg platform capacity.
