UK tower crane specialist Falcon has acquired lifting equipment supplier RHT Lifting Equipment from the Harwood family.
The company’s registered name is Robert Harwood Trading (East Anglia), but it trades as and is known as RHT Lifting Equipment. It was founded in 2006, by Robert Harwood and is based in Watton, Norfolk, due west of Norwich. Over the past 20 years, it has built up a solid reputation as a specialist supplier of lifting equipment, material handling products, height safety gear and more. Most of its sales are made in the UK, but it also trades overseas. Its customer base now exceeds 9,000 with a high level of repeat business.
As part of the acquisition, RTH directors Michelle Harwood and Hannah Smith will remain with the business and play a key role in the company's ongoing expansion and continue to operate as RHT Lifting Equipment.
The announcement said: “This acquisition represents an important step in Falcon group's wider strategy to diversify and expand its activities within the lifting equipment sector, while providing RHT with the resources and industry relationships to support its next stage of growth.”
“As part of the Falcon group, RHT will continue to do what it does best, having the resources to expand its product range and further develop its online presence.”
Falcon group general manager Steve Gray added: "RHT Lifting Equipment is a very well-established business with an excellent reputation, a loyal customer base and vast potential for further growth, especially alongside the Falcon group.”
“Our intention is not to change what has made the business successful, but to build on those foundations. By combining the knowledge, experience and customer relationships already established within the business with additional resources, manufacturer relationships and wider industry experience, we believe there is a significant opportunity to grow the business over the coming years while maintaining the service and relationships that have been central to its success.”
“The acquisition forms part of the group's continued investment in complementary areas of the lifting and construction equipment industry. Falcon is best known for its tower crane operations, but in recent years it has continued to broaden its activities across freight, power generation, lift management, training, industrial painting and fabrication. “
"This is a long term investment for the group, with Michelle and Hannah bringing their extensive knowledge and experience to the business.
