Potain's new self erector

Potain will unveil the 2.2 tonne Potain Evy 28-21 self-erecting tower crane at the Batimat exhibition in Paris, France, at the end of the month.

The Evy 28-21 has a maximum capacity of 2.2 tonnes, and a maximum jib tip capacity of 970kg at its 28 metre maximum radius and a 21 metre under hook height using its P+ function, and its maximum counterweight of 15 tonnes.

The jib luffs to 10, 20 or 30 degrees above horizontal for a maximum under hook height of 32.3 metres.

The crane features Smart Set-Up remote guidance for automated erection, along with Potain's Crane Control System (CCS), Drive Control and Power Control, while the integrated Potain Connect telematics platform provides remote diagnostics and equipment tracking and is aimed at residential builders, carpenters and roofers. The two axle Evy 28-21has an overall stowed length, without tow bar, of under 14 metres and can be towed at speeds of up to 80kph. The full specification will be available at its launch.

Manitowoc/Potain senior product manager Rémi Deporte said: "Batimat is the perfect stage to introduce the Evy 28-21, which delivers the lifting performance, connectivity, and ease of use customers need to work more efficiently. Integrated Potain Connect capabilities help owners track performance, simplify maintenance planning, and maximise uptime while reducing operating costs."

Batimat takes place on the 28th of September until the 1st of October, and is held at the Paris Expo, at the Porte de Versailles in central Paris
