Hiab updates ProCare

Loader crane manufacturer Hiab has introduced an updated version of its ProCare service agreements, adding remote monitoring and diagnostics to its standard maintenance packages.

Users can choose from three options - standard, plus or premium - with the aim, Hiab says, to reduce unplanned downtime and make maintenance costs more predictable.

The agreements include an online platform showing equipment performance and service history, which can be linked to customers' own systems. Hiab can also diagnose and fix some faults remotely, with its staff able to monitor connected equipment and send alerts when they spot potential problems.

The company says it has around 50,000 connected units and has carried out more than one million service visits using that data to help predict faults before they happen.

Maria Lindroos, vice president of lifecycle services, said: "With the next generation of ProCare, we are combining our service expertise, connected equipment and data to help customers increase equipment availability, make lifecycle costs more predictable and get more productivity from their fleets."

The new agreements will be rolled out globally in stages later this year.
