Two Jekko's for Mechanical Movements

UK contractor Mechanical Movements has taken delivery of two new Jekko spider cranes, a 2.8 tonne SPX328 Evo and a 3.2 tonne SPX532.2.

The SPX328 Evo has a maximum capacity of 2,800kg. With its extension installed, it has a maximum tip height of 13 metres and a maximum radius of 10.5 metres, while the 2.5 to 8.5 metre main boom offers a 10.4 metre tip height and 7.9 metres of radius.Pick & carry capacity is 350kg. The crane has an overall width of 850mm, an overall length 2.99 metres and overall height 1.6 metres. Power comes from a 48V lithium battery feeding a 7kW electric motor. . Total weight is 2,400kg.

The SPX532.2 has 3,200kg maximum capacity, while the 2.6 to 10.3 metre main boom provides a maximum tip height of 11.9 metres and a maximum radius of 9.4 metres, increasing to 17 metres and 14.8 metres with the hydraulic extension. Pick & carry capacity is 400kg.

The crane has an overall width of 760mm, overall length of 3.14 metres, and it is 1.99 metres high when stowed. Total weight is 2,657kg for the diesel model and 2,750kg for the lithium battery version, which uses a 48V battery and 8kW motor. The diesel model can be equipped with various electric power packs.

Based in Gravesend, Kent, family owned Mechanical Movements was founded by Mark Diprose in 1988 and specialises in industrial equipment moves and contract lifting for the construction, haulage, mechanical and electrical sectors. It also provides storage, site strip outs, traffic management, steel fabrication, remedial works, chiller decommissioning and drainage.
