Tadano steps up component production
Tadano, the Japanese based crane and aerial lift manufacturer has singed a Joint Venture agreement, establishing a hydraulic component manufacturing plant in the suburbs of Beijing.
It has also completed two new buildings at is mobile crane plant in Shido, one of which will produce hydraulic cylinders in a 1,330 square metre dedicated facility, while the other adds a further 5,600 square metre paint operation increasing the plants current paint capacity by 20 percent.

These two new buildings are part of the company’s three year investment programme intended to boost mobile crane production by 50 percent.

In China the component joint venture - JC-Tadano (Beijing) Hydraulic Co., Ltd has been established with JingCheng Heavy Industry which will hold 40 percent of the equity, Mimura Tekko K.K and K.K Murakami Seisakusho, Tadano’s two main component suppliers, both of which will hold five percent each leaving Tadano with a 50 percent holding.
The new venture which will be located in a new 8,500 square metre plant in Kouzi town will produce valves, rotary joints (hydraulic Swivels), small-sized cylinders, Hydraulic tubing and hoses etc…It is expected to employ around 1,000.
Tadano says that it sees an ever-increasing demand for construction machinery in China driven by the demand for infrastructure development together with major projects such as the 2008 Olympic Games and the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.
The chairman of the joint venture will be Su Jie – chairman of Jing Cheng, while the vice chair and president will be Yukio Minami of BQ-Tadano (Beijing). The vice president will be Zhan Yingxuan, currently a plant manager with Jing Cheng.
Tadano says that the main aims of the new venture is to provide better quality components for its joint venture truck crane plant BQ-Tadano (Beijing) Crane Co. In addition the facility will eventually supply components for other Tadano plants in Japan and possibly Germany?
