Foiled fraud/theft attempt

Quick thinking and an alert mind saved the attempted theft of three 26ft scissor lifts from Horizon Platforms in the UK this week.
The perpetrators have already had at least one successful theft that we know of, and are sure to try again with other rental companies.

The following is the alert from Horizon’s Kelly Burgess.

“I just wanted to let everyone know that we have managed to stop three (26ES) machines being delivered to:

1 Old School Drive
Manchester
Greater Manchester
M9 8DR

A gentleman called our office this morning claiming to be a Craig Newsome who works for Titan Construction Limited. He called on a withheld number and claimed he had changed his original number. This raised a bit of suspicion at our end.

We checked with our internal sales representative who confirmed with the real Craig Newsome that he hadn’t placed an order and he had already been informed that a successful attempt had already been made on his account from another powered access provider.

Please see the number of the fake person 07469 526199.

Kind regards
