Discover moves in Romania

Battery supplier Discover Battery has appointed Battery Shop Akita, as its distributor for Romania. The company is a division of Redresoare which has been manufacturing, supplying and servicing battery chargers since 2008.

Based in Giurgiu, due south of Bucharest on the Bulgarian border, Battery Shop Akita is located at the heart of a rapidly evolving industrial corridor, where a good number of Discover’s manufacturing customers are setting up new European manufacturing facilities.
The all new Battery Shop Akita should be fully operational by year end

As part of this move, Redresoare is investing in a new dedicated Battery Shop Akita facility in Giurgiu with 300 square metres of storage and 100 square metres of office space, which is due for completion by the end of the year.

Discover said: “As this region emerges, proximity, responsiveness and technical support are becoming increasingly critical. In this context, Battery Shop Akita is ideally positioned not only to support our products in the Romanian market, but also to contribute to our expansion across South Eastern Europe.”

Redresoare’s owner Dragos Ionescu added: “For us, distributing batteries is only one part of the job. Understanding how a battery behaves within a machine, how it is charged and how it is used daily, that is where performance is really defined. Our role is to help customers make the right decisions, not only at the point of purchase, but throughout the entire lifecycle of their equipment.”

“In the past, the discussion was typically focused on price. Today, it is about total cost of ownership. When you consider maintenance, downtime, energy efficiency and reliability over time, the right battery and guidance can significantly improve the fleet economics.”

“We aim to bring real value to our customers through availability, expertise and long term support. Beyond Romania, we also see strong potential to contribute to Discover Battery’s growth across the entire region.”

Discover’s vice president sales & business development Alexander Marotz said: “We are building a network of experts, not just distributors. We look for partners who understand how machines operate in the field, who can interpret technical data and translate it into clear, reliable recommendations. This is exactly what we found with Dragos and his team.”

“Our role is not just to bring technology to the market, but to ensure that it performs in real conditions. That means staying close to customers, understanding their constraints and working with partners who can support them locally with the right level of expertise.”

In addition to producing and selling battery chargers Redresoare and its associates offer a wide range of battery types and has become a significant player in the Romanian aerial lift market, it also offers batteries from Varta, Exide, Trojan, US Batteries, Enersys, Fiam and Balkancar. In addition to batteries, it sells pallet trucks, used forklifts, forklift tyres and spare parts.
