100th Franna for Borger

Australian rental company Borger Cranes has taken delivery of its 100th Franna pick & carry crane, a 40 tonne AT40-2.

The three axle AT40-2 - handed over during the Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) national conference - features an articulated chassis and four section 19.8 metre main boom, with a maximum tip height of 20 metres. It can handle its maximum capacity at a 1.1 metre radius, and a height of six metres. The capacity on full boom is three tonnes, which it can also handle at its maximum 15.8 metre radius, with the boom horizontal.

The crane has an overall width of just over 2.7 metres, is 3.65 metres high and has an overall chassis length of 8.43 metres - with boom overhang, the overall travel length is just under 11 metres. Power comes from a Mercedes diesel linked to a six speed Allison transmission. The overall weight is 30,300kg and it has a maximum road speed of 80kph/50mph.

Borger Cranes said: “To celebrate the arrival of the AT40-2, we commissioned a custom wrap in our colours, featuring the Indigenous artwork created for us by a young artist several years ago, a design that reflects our story and our values.”

“Bringing it to life took craftsmanship, careful preparation and 35 metres of vinyl. Tiffany Curtis from Wrap Vault took on the challenge, with Franna providing access to their workshop for several days. The result is a striking addition to our fleet and a fitting way to mark this milestone.”
