The knuckle boom cranes can handle the full 400 tonnes capacity in single-fall mode and feature a below-deck winch along with a 50 tonne auxiliary crane. They also have deep water operating capacity with 3,200 metres of rope storage, allowing up to 3,000 metres of below sea hook travel, and can safely handle up to 243 tonnes at this depth.

The 400 tonne crane can lift its full rated load with the knuckle extended from a radius of 8.5 metres to its maximum of 42 metres. Features include full load active heave compensation, Huisman's fifth generation motion controller, a load peak shaving mode and lift-off boost mode, plus LiDAR based active collision avoidance.

All four cranes will be built at Huisman’s production facility in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province.
