Kier Plant takes UK's first 160HCL-Luffing tower

Kier Plant has taken delivery of the UK’s first Liebherr 160HC-L luffing jib tower crane and has put it to work at the King’s Cross Station redevelopment project in London. A subsequent order for a second 160HC-L unit was placed by Kier at the end March, 2003. Please register to see all images

The 160HC-L utilises a 55 metre jib, where capacity is 2 tonnes at this radius, and a maximum capacity of 16 tonnes. Jib lengths are available from 30 to 50 metres in 5 metre increments with tower heights of up to 75 metres using Liebherr’s modular tower system.
