Hünnebeck wins major contract

Hünnebeck access services division, a sister company of SGB, has won a contract to provide shoring equipment to one of Africa’s largest hydropower construction projects. The deal is worth around $2 million over its duration, with the potential for further orders during subsequent stages of construction.

Hünnebeck’s equipment will support construction of the new 250 MW Bujagali hydropower facility, being built over the next four years on Uganda’s Victoria Nile.

The order is Hünnebeck’s largest-ever in Africa and reflects its owner Harsco’s stated strategies for expanding its Access Services footprint within the African region.

Under the contract, Hünnebeck will supply a range of equipment sold through its branch operations in Italy, including shoring systems as well as specialty brackets for construction of the facility’s concrete dam and new buildings.
