Tanfield to supply Manitou

Tanfield has reached an agreement with French based manufacturer Manitou to provide “Certain access products on an OEM basis”. Both Tanfield and Manitou are not keen to promote the deal and have not released any details of which products might be included.

With Manitou already producing products that compete head to head with most of the UpRight range, it is likely to be focused around the highly successful TM12, the 4.3 metre platform height mast type super compact battery powered lift and possibly the UpRight Speed Level although this rough terrain lift is perhaps too close to Manitou’s Telescopic boomed T15?

The UpRight TM12 in Snorkel guise. Will it now also appear as a Manitou?

This looks like it could be a good deal for both companies, depending on the products that are included. It might also throw up some larger prospects for the longer term future?

With the introduction of the JLG ES1230 which is dimensionally a copy of the TM12, and further products expected from Skyjack and perhaps Genie later this year, the sector is likely to grow and UpRight would benefit from Manitou’s industrial and end user dealer network.
