Telehandler or aerial lift?

A man in his 20’s died and another was seriously injured on Friday while they were installing floodlights at a sports ground in Mountmellick, Co Laois, Ireland.

Reports from the site are all over the place. Initially it was said that a “cherry Picker” had fallen over.

Other more definitive report we have been sent says that it was in fact a telescopic handler which was lifting one of the lighting poles at the time. The telehandler apparently tipped over and landed on one of the men killing him..

Gardai preserved the scene and an investigation by the Health and Safety Authority is underway.
