Tower crane safety website

The UK’s Strategic Forum for Construction has launched its tower crane website on tower crane safety, including a range of guidance material for contractors and members of the public, which has been endorsed by the HSE.

The guidance is aimed at all those involved in crane operations and provides information ranging from occupational health management and acceptable working conditions for tower crane operators to recommendations for site hoardings which include a new tower poster which include the Strategic Forum’s website address and a space to add the phone number of the site manager. It also includes a guide to crane safety and can be ordered on line.

The forum has also published a pocket-sized information booklet for crane operators. About 3,000 will be produced and distributed to everyone involved in the manufacture and use of cranes, from suppliers to site managers.
