Scarborough heights

A new access rental and training company has opened in the English coastal town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. High Reaching solutions is owned by Shane Wakeford, who having worked in the aerial lift market “got bitten by the bug” and decided to launch his own business.

The company has only just opened for business when its first machine arrived a new Dinolift 160XT articulated telescopic trailer mounted lift. The company is also advising companies and homeowners with work at height problems on the best equipment for the job and then sourcing it from local rental companies.

Wakeford, a qualified IPAF operator and demonstrator is also planning to become an IPAF trainer in order to offer training in the local region as well as hiring out his services on a national basis.

Talking about the access industry he says: “I have received a lot of support from people within the industry and have gained many useful contacts and knowledge from them.”

“In the near future I am hoping to add a Bil-Jax Summit (trailer mount) and X-boom series (Self propelled) which will fill a large gap in the local market.”
