Brandon announces Ilford acquisition

Bristol-based Brandon Tool Hire has announced the acquisition of the assets and ongoing trade of Rainham-based Ilford Plant Hire & Sales.

Established in 1964, Ilford Plant Hire caters for local builders and contractors, as well as carrying products for homeowners. It has a small but comprehensive range of access and lifting products, including scissors and small booms, light alloy and steel towers, material lifts and other light duty lifting equipment.

The deal represents further extension of Brandon's trading footprint and, according to Charles Skinner, Brandon's
Chief executive, the acquisition of Ilford further enhances the company's reputation as the leading tool hire company in the London and South East.

In addition to the acquisition, Brandon confirmed the relocation of its Oxford store to new premises in Kidlington on the north side of Oxford.
