Metropolitan Police release Wembley fatality statement.

Police and the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) are continuing their investigations into the circumstances resulting in the tragic death of Patrick O’Sullivan and the injuries suffered by a fellow worker earlier this year at the site of the new Wembley Stadium development project in London.

Police were called to the scene following the accident on the morning of January 15, which involved a large platform being dislodged during lifting operations and falling around 100 feet (30 metres) onto the two workers.

HSE was informed and a joint investigation was subsequently launched.

DCI Raf D’Orsi, the officer leading the investigation today said: “Our enquiries into this tragic death continue, however, speculation in some media has not been helpful to the investigation or the families of those affected. I would appeal for anyone who may have significant information directly in connection with this incident to contact Kilburn CID on 0208 733 3744."
