Ramirent confirm Treffco purchase in Denmark

Ramirent Plc has confirmed that their recently acquired Danish subsidiary Altima A/S has taken over the aerial lift rental activities of Treffco A/S. Founded almost 24 years ago, by owner Kennith Lohmann, Treffco A/S has been one of the leading construction equipment distribution companies in Denmark, representing Ingersol Rand, UpRight and Bobcat. In the early 90s Treffco purchased Instant Danmark, the UpRight wholly owned distribution company. This took them into access rental, which prospered, they then extended the rental activity to Bobcat skid steers and more recently Telehandlers.

In May 2003 financing problems led to a “suspension of Payment filing” which is a precursor to administration. The take over announced today only applies to the powered access division, by far the largest sector within Treffco. At this time we have no news on the remainder of the business, including the profitable Alloy scaffold tower rental activity.
The activity taken over by Ramirent Plc covers a business operating from five locations over Denmark with 38 employees and annual revenues of around DKK 54 million (seven million euros) the operating income in the last full year was DKK6.8 million ($900,000)
