How not to use aerial lifts

A German reader sent us the following photograph in which two aerial lifts are captured being stupidly misused.
In what is Death Wish 66 it is sad to see two perfectly safe and efficient lifts being so poorly and unnecessarily misused.

Not the way to use aerial lifts

The man using the scissor lift has simply decided that he needed to climb out onto the steel work in order to unhook the lifting chains from a beam. The second unit, a mast boom is even worse – rather than stay in the platform and move the machine by a few hundred millimetres, the use decides to climb and use the jib as a platform.

What possesses people to do such stupid things never ceases to amaze.
