Crane operator fatality

A 71 year old crane operator died yesterday in Palm Harbour, Pinellas County, Florida, after his truck crane tipped over ejecting him from his cab.

The crane was lifting or holding, the mast of a large fork truck at the Homeport Marina when the load is said to have slipped pulling the crane over.

The operator, Ivan Hubbert, of Tarpon Springs, died from head injuries shortly after the accident.

The crane was rented in by the marina to carry out the lift.
