Riwal on the march

Dutch based international access specialist Riwal has made an acquisition in its home market as it prepares to expand into the UK.

The company which sells and rents aerial work platforms in Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Slovenia and the Middle East has acquired, Badhoevdorp, (Amsterdam) based Instant Holland.

Note:- There is no longer any connection between Instant Holland Amsterdam and Instant Holland Apeldoorn.

The deal which has been mooted for several months, was we understand completed earlier this week. Riwal and Instant Amsterdam have worked closely together for several years, in much the same way as the company worked with Clem in Spain before taking it over.

From what we understand Allard May, managing director of Instant, and his team will continue to work with the company as before. An full press release on the acquisition is expected next week, after the company has informed suppliers. Employees at the two companies were being informed this evening.

In a separate development Riwal is preparing its entry into the UK market and has already employed at least two locally based staff. It plans to offer its re-rent service to other rental companies and for large projects, initially focusing on larger units, once again a full statement on this new venture is expected shortly.
