New vans for Lavendon

Lavendon Access Services the UK’s largest aerial lift rental group has invested in a brand new fleet of support vehicles for its Nationwide Platforms, Panther and Skylift businesses. East Midlands Vehicle Hire secured the contract to provide the 162 new vans.

The key points Lavendon Access Services considered when choosing from the companies that tendered were choice and size of vehicle, safety features, fuel efficient engines, door options (for accessing parts and tools), running costs, lead time and price. Volkswagen offered the best options in two different sizes, namely the ‘Caddy’ and the larger ‘Transporter’.

All vans were supplied ‘ready to roll’ in full livery with reflective rear chevrons, complete with accessories such as racking, tool and part boxes/shelves, safety equipment such as rotating beacons and mobile phone kits. The fleet is also supported by a 24 hour/365 days a year driver support service.

Lavendon’s fleet manager, Dianne Dunkley said: “The first 50 vehicles from our order have been delivered to depots, and the feedback I have had so far has been fantastic. Both the 1.9Tdi Transporter and 1.9Tdi Caddy are all equipped with side and rear loading doors, full height bulkhead, alarms, air conditioning and electric windows, and the appearance and versatility of these vehicles reflect the way in which Lavendon Access Services continues to operate.”

East Midlands Vehicle Hire sales director, David Grantham added: “East Midlands Vehicle Hire is delighted to continue a partnership with Lavendon Access Services, renewing the existing fleet of vehicles and increasing business levels with a further 50 units. I look forward to working closely together over the coming years.”
