Komatsu Profits Jump by 800 percent
Machinery manufacturer Komatsu Ltd of Japan, a recent entrant to the Telehandler market, announced its fiscal 2003 results this week. Sales rose by almost 10 percent to $11.5 billion (£6.6 billion) while net profit after tax was up by 796 percent to $246 million (£140 million) for the year to March 31 2004.
Strong sales growth in China and the United States were cited as the main drivers for the increases. Komatsu also predicted sales growth this year in the nine percent region with net profit expected to rise by 37 percent.
