Mother of invention?

A reader in Holland sent us the picture of one of the more unusual ‘scaffolds’ we have seen.

One of his customers snapped it with his mobile phone in Apeldoorn recently. He has used a couple of ladders with hooks over the balcony railings, the hooked a plank on to the ladders, sadly the rung heights do not match, but our man – who appears to be painting - seems oblivious to it.

A suspended scaffold? getting onto the board with his paint must have been interesting

It is said that ‘necessity is the mother of invention’ however Holland is possibly the most highly developed access market in the world with an incredible penetration of both powered access and alloy towers. We know for a fact that in Apeldoorn our painter has huge choice on where to rent a proper platform of any kind – suspended – lift – tower or special painters scaffold.

Looks like the plank is lashed in place for safety!

Definitely one for our Death Wish series.- the 86th
