The first CAT Rental Store opens in W Africa
The first West African Cat Rental Store has now formally opened in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The store, which is owned and operated by Cat distributor Burkina Equipements, was set up in May since when it has been transforming the operation, preparing and training staff.
In addition to implementing the Cat Rental Store branding and paperwork, all of the 50 or so staff, including salesmen, operators and mechanics have had to be trained on new products offered.

Burkina Equipments has been renting equipment for around 11 years, the new operation has started off with wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, track-type tractors, motor graders, compactors and allied equipment locally, along with serving mining operations up to 450 kilometres.
Bernard Ballion, director of Burkina Equipements said: “The idea of opening a Cat Rental Store is a natural and logical continuation of rental activities we have had since 1998. During the past years we have learnt to manage the rental business in demanding conditions; our partners and customers have also had to learn to trust us. The machine fleet has evolved and grown and consists today of approximately hundred machines.”
“Today, through our Cat Rental Store, we can propose our customers operating in Burkina Faso a complete range of solutions for their equipment needs.“
