NES opens first IPAF training centre

NES Rentals one of the largest rental companies in the USA has opened its first AWPT/IPAF training centre in Des Plaines, Illinois to serve the greater Chicago, region and will offer International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) training programmes.

The new training centre joins three other AWPT/IPAF training centres in the Chicago area including those operated by Skyjack, the Sheet Metal Workers' Local Union 73 and the Construction Safety Council.

Teresa Kee, director, environmental, health and safety for NES said: “NES is pleased to respond to a growing interest in the Chicago area for AWPT training for aerial lift operators. Because we already offer operator training programmes from various aerial work platform manufacturers, it was a natural progression for us to add AWPT training to our programming. Successful completion of the AWPT programme leads to the issuance of an internationally-recognised Powered Access Licensed-registration (PAL) card, the gold standard for aerial platform training worldwide.”

NES will now offer IPAF training in the Chicago region

Said AWPT’s Tony Groat added: “The IPAF program is unlike any other operator training programme in the industry. In that the training is done by those members of IPAF, like NES, who have met stringent requirements and are certified as Authorised Training Centres. We provide them with the training materials, then follow up and monitor the way the actual training is conducted.”

AWPT is the subsidiary of IPAF that administers IPAF’s North American Training programme.
