Active adds Star 10

Active Rentals the Glasgow, UK, based access specialist, has taken delivery of its two Haulotte Star 10 mast booms. The Star 10 offers 10 metres of working height and three metres of outreach.

The two units are also the first Haulotte products that the company has added to its rental fleet, both units went out on rental shortly after their arrival.

Active’s general manager Ronny Traynor said: “We have highlighted areas within our fleet that we wish to strengthen with the Star 10’s being one of those machine types we have identified. We are in the midst of altering the fleet to serve what we believe the market will demand in this New Year and beyond. The Haulotte Star 10’s have really measured up well and have already proven to be a welcomed addition to our fleet, we now look forward to other additions which will see us with a very versatile fleet”.

Andrew McCusker, managing director added: “In a year that has seen unparalleled turmoil the powered access industry has felt the full force of the recession with both utilisation and hire rates coming under severe pressure. After some scrutiny and evaluation, we decided as a management team that we really had to cut our cloth to suit and made the decision to manage the day to day hire desk function ourselves. This afforded us the opportunity to speak to customers personally every day, allowing us to see the strengths, gaps and opportunities in the fleet first hand.”
