The Pop Up+

Companies that already own Pop-Up+ models can purchase an auto brake upgrade kit, allowing the removal of stabilisers on the pre-January 2010 units that they own.

Other improvements include improved shock absorbing, heavy duty castors and a new heavy duty long-life battery.

The auto brake design will be added to the standard Pop-Up model in early Spring.

Pop Up’s sales and marketing director Paul Gallacher said: “The introduction of the new auto brake system on the Pop-Up+ will prevent movement of the machine while it is in an elevated position, which will ensure operators will be able to work safely indoors without the use of stabilisers.”

“We are also in the process of forming a focus group with end-users to ensure our products continue to be the number one scissor lifts of choice for operators working at low level heights. We’re constantly working in partnership with major contractors such as Balfour Beatty and Skanska to develop our range of low level, push around scissor lifts.”

Vertikal Comment

Pop Up has led the development of this sector of the low level work at height market, but has seen a number of competitive products enter the market over the past 18 months, most of which do not require stabilisers on the higher models.

The automatic brakes first seen on the Power Tower, has also proven to be popular feature, for both safety and productivity reasons. The retrofit package is likely to be a popular item.
