Bob Wedge 1962-2010
UK crane veteran Bob Wedge, sales director of Birmingham Crane Hire passed away early on Wednesday morning after a long battle with cancer. Wedge 47 was first diagnosed around 16 years ago but has continued working through the illness and various treatments.
In fact he was hoping to return to the office next week. He had worked with Birmingham Crane Hire (BCHC) for over 21 years after joining the company from Hewden Stuart.
His fellow directors at BCHC said he was one “of the industries latter day characters he will be completely irreplaceable”.
He leaves behind wife Gail and two teenage daughters, Amy and Laura. The funeral is likely to be next week, possibly on what would have been his 48th birthday.

I only really got to know Bob since joining Jay & Davies in 2008 but found him to be one of true characters in the crane hire world. He took his illness in his stride and never let it get him down (Even to the point of joking about it!). It is a cruel world and my thoughts go out to his wife and daughters.
