Norman Woodall R.I.P
News has reached us that retired UK crane man Norman Woodall sadly passed away yesterday aged 76. He leaves a wife Janet and daughter Anne Louise.
Woodall joined Hewden Stuart Crane Hire in 1968, retiring in the early 1990's due to ill health. For most of that time he was a director responsible for operations and engineering.
Ray Ledger who worked with Woodall for many years at Hewden said: “ Norman was a crane man through and through and was very highly regarded by fellow employees, customers and crane manufacturers alike for being one of the most genuine and knowledgeable men in the industry.”
The funeral will be held at St Cuthberts church, High Ackworth near Pontefract, West Yorkshire on Monday 13th September at 12:45.
Norman's son and daughter from his first marriage would also like to express their sadness, having belatedly received the news of their father's death. Condolences to Janet and Anne-Louise from Dr Christopher and Ms Kathryn Woodall.
It is with great sadness i heard about Norman I first met him way back in 1973 as a young man and had just started with R.G.Stuart Cambuslang..He was never too busy to stop and have a chat and his door was always open.He would even pop in to see you if he knew there was a crane in the area.A true Gentleman who was a credit to the industry,
sincere condolences to all the family my thoughts are with them at this sad time.
Willie Ross Hewden Grangemouth.
