The new 10 tonne crane has a 60 metre jib and a 37.2 metre high tower, with the jib luffed to 30 degrees above horizontal it offers a maximum tip eight of 66 metres. It can operate on an AC power outlet with a supply as low as 11 amps while maintaining full operational power, thanks to its an onboard lithium-ion battery pack that boosts the available mains power source as and when required. A small Stage V diesel can be used to support and recharge the battery pack when an AC outlet is not available.

The type of AC socket that the crane is plugged into - 16 or 32 amp - can be pre-selected
The new crane takes the number of electric/hybrid cranes in the Kuiphuis fleet to 13, following the purchase of a three axle Spierings SK487-AT3 City Boy last year and a fleet of full electric Spierings crawler cranes, which it rents throughout Europe.
Kuiphuis purchased its first Spierings crane - a three axle SK345-AT3 - in 1994 and now has 40 units in its fleet. At one time current owner Bob Bruijsten even worked for Spierings.
