Liebherr has launched the LiSIM Move, a mobile harbour crane simulator for operator training.
The system provides training for Liebherr LHM 550 and LHM 800 mobile harbour cranes across container, bulk and breakbulk operations. The simulator includes Liebherr controls, virtual reality and instructor interface.
The simulator kit
LiSIM Move offers 16 container handling exercises, five bulk handling tasks and six breakbulk operations. The system has adjustable settings including ship draught and lighting conditions with performance tracking.
The simulator can be used for skill development, recruitment assessments and onboarding. Training scenarios include basic manoeuvres and operational challenges, with environments including ULCVs, Post Panamax vessels, hoppers, barges and breakbulk zones.
An operator using the system
According to Liebherr, the LiSIM Move saves 99 percent of CO2 emissions compared to real crane training with 50 service centres globally to support LiSIM move deployments.
Liebherr product manager Christian Schneider said: "LiSIM Move allows us to bring world class training directly to our customers, wherever they are. But it's more than just mobility. By replicating real world conditions in a safe, controlled environment, we're helping ports and terminals build a stronger, more resilient workforce."
The mobile simulator is designed for temporary training programmes, remote locations or expanding port operations. Liebherr says the system provides the same experience as fixed simulators.
