Virginia based W.O. Grubb Crane Rental has appointed Ted Redmond as chief executive, Dustin Fisher as chief financial officer, and Michael Good as senior vice president of operations.
The company also announced that crane rental veteran and former chief executive of Amquip and Maxim Crane Al Bove has joined the board as a non-executive director, along with Brad Creswell a former banker and, since 1992 a partner in private equity firm NCA Partners.

Ted Redmond joins the company from Modular Space Solutions where he has been chief operating officer for the past seven years.
He began his career in 1990 as a manager with the Boston Consulting group leaving in 1998 to become president of Surface Engineered Products, working in the refining and petrochemical industry. Five years later, he made the move to Lacent Technologies, where he was chief executive, changing industries after 18 months, when he became a partner at Kirchner Private Capital, leaving in 2006 to return to the Oil & gas services industry with McCoy Corporation in Edmonton, Canada.

Four years later he joined the crane rental industry as chief executive of NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul, which at that time was private equity owned. During his eight years with the business, the company made a string of acquisitions. A couple of years after he departed, Maxim purchased a couple of the businesses, with the rest acquired by Barnhart in 2024.
During his time with NCSG he was also an active participant in the industry as board member of the SC&RA and serving as chairman of the Crane Governance committee. He was also chairman of The Crane Rental Association of Canada, a director of the Alberta Crane Owners Association and the B.C. Crane Owners Association. In 2018 he spent a year with ZCL Composites as chief executive before joining Modular.

Dustin Fisher joins Grubb from Automotive events company Hoonigan, where he has been chief financial officer for the past two years. Prior to that, he had spent his entire career with Hertz Rental, starting out in the Los Angeles based finance and accounting department in 2000, at the end of 2013, he was transferred to Melbourne, Australia as sales director of finance for the Asia Pacific region. In 2019 he moved back to the USA as vice president of financial planning & analysis, based in Florida, followed by a similar role with global responsibility, leaving for Hoonigan in mid 2024.
Dustin Fisher Michael ‘ Mike’ Good has been president of Grubb since June last year. He joined the company in 2016 following a 33 year with AmQuip Crane and Maxim. He started his career with Pennsylvania based Amquip in 1984 as a crane detailer, in his time with the company, he served as a yard labourer, truck driver, crane operator, salesman, operations manager, depot manager and vice president of operations for the Northeast. He left the business for W.O.Grubb roughly 18 months after AmQuip was acquired by Maxim.

That's what we've done with the addition of Ted, Dustin and other promotions and changes to the team. Ted has scaled businesses like ours before, and I'm looking forward to partnering with him and all the incredible Grubb employees as senior vice president, continuing to scale our operations, fleet and safety teams as we continue our growth plan."
Grubb has also expanded its finance and operations organisations with the appointments of Bora Welsh as head of FP&A, James Bryan as controller, and Bill Smith as vice president of risk management. All of which is preparing the company to support a phase of accelerated growth.
