He has over 40 years of crane and construction industry experience, beginning his career as an operating engineer and then joining Anthony Crane Rental where he remained for a more than 28 years following the company from a small regional player to one of the largest crane rental companies in the world under the Maxim banner.

AmQuip chief executive Frank Bardonaro said: “The addition of Al to the AmQuip team adds experience and expertise that is unmatched in the industry. We are capitalising on the current economic conditions to prepare AmQuip and our management team to be ahead of the curve as the country continues to improve and prepare for prosperity in the future.”

Bove was president of Maxim Crane when it went into Chapter 11 in 2004 and left half way through the process to ream up with AmQuip’s Joe Wesley to make a counterbid for Maxim which did not succeed.
