15 Liebherrs for Aguilar

Spanish crane rental group Grúas Aguilar has ordered 15 Liebherr cranes, including an 800 tonne LR 1800-1.0 which becomes the largest crawler crane in the company's fleet.

The LR 1800-1.0 can be rigged with a main boom of up to 180 metres and when equipped with derrick boom and suspended ballast and topped with a 39 metre fixed offset jib a maximum system length of 219 metres. Maximum boom without the back mast is 114 metres. A 102 metre luffing jib is also available and can be combined with 108 metres of main boom, the 39 metre derrick boom and VarioTray suspended counterweight system.

The crane has already completed its first project in Madrid where it assisted in the installation of the ‘Mayrit’ tunnel boring machine, which was used in the extension works on the City's Metro Line 11.

The order also includes a 400 tonne LTM 1400-6.1, which has also arrived, a 300 tonne LTM 1300-6.4, a 60 tonne LTM 1060-3.1, a 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.3 and a 100 tonne LTM 1100-5.3, as well as an eight tonne MK 140-5.1E mobile tower crane, all of which are due to arrive in the first few months of 2027.

Grúas Aguilar was established in 1968 by the late Luis Aguilar and is based in Arganda del Rey, about 20 kilometres southeast of Madrid, with three additional locations, Burgos – between Madrid and Bilbao, Cuenca – between Madrid and Valencia, and Palma in Mallorca. The company's fleet includes All Terrains up to 1,200 tonnes, crawler cranes up to 800 tonnes, and loader cranes, along with a wide range of scissor and boom lifts.
