Southern takes UK’s first LTM 1300-6.3

UK rental company Southern Cranes & Access has taken delivery of the first 300 tonne Liebherr LTM 1300-6.3 to arrive in the UK.

The six axle, single engine LTM 1300-6.3 crane features an eight section, 90 metre main boom and has been supplied with a hydraulic luffing bi-fold swingaway extension as well as a refinery kit and boom nose camera. Other features include: VarioBase Plus variable outrigger set up with automatic monitoring, which calculates an optimum chart for the configuration selected, VarioBallast adjustable counterweight, Auto-Ballast and windspeed load charts a well as ECOmode and ECOdrive.

The new LTM 1300-6.3 with its all-new SCA livery


This is the last unit in the company’s 2022 order, but it has already placed an order for 2023 deliveries which includes a 110 tonne five axle LTM 1110-5.1, 70 tonne four axle LTM 1070-4.2, a 55 tonne three axle LTM 1055-3.2 and two LTM 1040-2.1 two axle All Terrains.

Kelvin Prince of Southern Cranes & Access said: “As the company who took delivery of the UK’s first crane with VarioBase, the UK’s first LTM1090-4.2, the UK’s first MK88 and MK140 tower cranes, it made perfect sense for us to showcase the first 90 metre boomed six axle machine in the UK.”
